Are you an experienced Freelance Business Functional Analyst With sharp analytical skills? Do you succeed in building bridges between business and IT? As a Business Functional Analyst, you play a key role in identifying business needs and guiding digital transformation journeys. You work closely with stakeholders from both business and IT. You then translate their needs into clear, structured, and actionable requirements.

Your role as a Business Functional Analyst

In this freelance assignment, you will analyse and model existing business processes. You will also map out the desired future situation, while monitoring the coherence between business objectives, functional requirements, and technical possibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Analysing and modelling AS IS and TO BE process flows
Identifying and documenting business requirements
Gathering information through interviews, workshops, observations, and surveys
Determining functional and non-functional requirements
Performing impact analyses and GAP analyses
Developing high-level solutions and architectural proposals
Formulating practical and realistic project objectives
Organising and facilitating workshops between business and IT
Translate requirements into clear user stories
Liaising with stakeholders, development teams, and other interested parties
Monitoring the quality and traceability of requirements
Drafting and updating functional and technical documentation

As a Business Functional Analyst, you are the central point of contact between stakeholders and development teams. Thanks to your clear communication, everyone understands what is expected and why.

Your experience and skills

For this assignment, we are looking for an.

You have:

A minimum of five years' experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst within ICT projects.
Strong experience with requirements gathering and requirements management
Experience with documenting, modelling, and optimising business processes
Experience with GAP analyses, AS IS and TO BE analyses, and What If analyses
Good knowledge of UML, BPMN, and user stories
Experience with Agile and Scrum
Experience with mocking, XML and APIs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, visual modelling, and technical documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
The ability to formulate complex information clearly and understandably
Good communication skills in collaboration with business and IT

Knowledge of PMBOK, ITIL, or PRINCE2 is a definite advantage.
